Oatmeal Cookies

(for date ‘sandwiches’)

Ingredients and Directions

Combine:

  • ½ cup butter

  • ½ cup Crisco

  • ⅔ cup brown sugar

Mix together and add to butter mixture:

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Stir in:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

Add:

  • 2 cups rolled oats

Roll out on floured pastry sheet until 1/8” thick. Cut 2” circles.

  • Cook on ungreased cookie sheet.

  • Bake at 350 °F for 10 minutes.

  • Makes 4 dozen 2” cookies
