Oatmeal Cookies (for date ‘sandwiches’)


1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup Crisco

2/3 cup brown sugar

Mix together and add to butter mixture:

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

Stir in:

2 cups all purpose flour


2 cups rolled oats

Roll out on floured pastry sheet until 1/8” thick. Cut 2” circles.

Cook on ungreased cookie sheet.

350 F for 10 minutes. 4 dozen 2” cookies
